To your child a jump rope is just a toy. But we know it’s also a valuable learning tool that promotes a child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth through play. For example, here’s how a single jumping game is really four different types of play: Social Play Taking turns and sharing the fun teaches valuable social skills, and demonstrates the rewards of working together. Emotional Play Perfecting a skill or just getting better at it, teaches patience and helps children build self confidence. Physical Play Good habits start early, so it’s important to teach children that exercise is fun. Growing bodies develop better coordination. Intellectual Play Active kids love rhyming games and alphabet songs. These games improve verbal skills, and a solid foundation for learning to read. At any age, children learn through play. So let them Play and Play and Play.
