Islamic Awakening, Progression of the Islamic Civilization

Would you please after introducing yourself, tell us about your activities!

- My name is Mariam Barakah Ali. I work as a teacher of Arabic and subject of doctrine and creed in the stage of basic education Zahraa, head of the charity concerned with the affairs of women and children. I have some writings in the field of women and children. I have a special awareness of women’s activities within the Association

What is your definition of the Islamic Awakening Movement?

I think that the Islamic Awakening movement strides about progress towards the Islamic civilization promising an imminent rise to the top of the right of       Islamic glory.

In your opinion which country is the best model of resistance in the Islamic Awakening Movement?

In my opinion the Islamic Republic of Iran is the best model and example as the best cultural feat. That is rooted in the resistance movement and the Islamic system of reform and change, which inspired her people who are still inspired by their strength and pride.

Do you think women are playing the role they need to play in the Islamic Awakening Movement?

I think that women play a role in the movement of Islamic awakening, but not as it should. As there are obstacles that opposed its course and weaken its renaissance which puts challenges in front of them, they have to work hard to overcome them. 

How do you regard the situation of women in connection with the required condition for the promotion of the movement?

I see that Muslim women are committed to chastity and religion only which have placed them in the active role in communicating with the movement of Islamic awakening.

In your opinion, which obstacles are there in the way of fulfillment of the movement?

I see many obstacles to the achievement of the Islamic Revival Movement caused by those that demean women or incite marginalized starting from the concepts and traditions of ignorance through advocates of liberal thought, including broadcast media outlets of the toxins aiming to cripple the Islamic Renaissance at a time when women should stick to chastity and to achieve dignity in order to be worthy of the role entrusted to them in advancing the society to the fore, we find that the western media are  against promoting women.

What are your suggestions toward the betterment of the role played by the women in the movement?

I suggest the following:

Establishment of cultural committees - under the auspices of the Islamic Republic of Iran as being a leader in her faith, but the biggest concern with this issue in different countries or Muslim communities undertake the following:

1- The work of educational programs for women to educate Muslim women - especially the uneducated - the teachings of the Islamic religion and the idea and definition of the importance of this development in itself and regain its identity

2- Create a magazine for Muslim women pose including all ideas and opinions and recommendations in support of Muslim women and all that would pave the way for women to be able to fully play their role in the movement of Islamic awakening.

3- Coordination of programs related to women’s renaissance conferences with the substantive and fruitful work to turn the recommendations into practice.
